Last month’s 3rd on Third art festival in the Bayview was originally billed as a one-off event, but after an impressive turnout, Supervisor Malia Cohen was able to secure funding to keep the monthly event going for the foreseeable future.
“I’m ecstatic,” Cohen said. “This is a great opportunity to continue to showcase and uplift the Bayview.”
The first 3rd on Third festival, so named because it takes place on the third Thursday of every month on 3rd Avenue, received funding for the original event through the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, but that money was only available on a one-time basis.
