"In the last short period, the Bayview has become a hot commodity," said Robert Davis, a founding member of Bayview Residents Improving Their Environment, or Brite, which is a group of entrepreneurs, activists and artists advocating for change in the neighborhood. According to the city's Office of Economic and Workforce Development, vacancy rates along the Third Street corridor are down more than 7 percent since last year.
