San Francisco African American Historic Context Statement Open House

The San Francisco African American Historic Context Statement (AAHCS) is a living document focusing on the African American experience from the City’s early history to the present day. The context statement will provide a foundation for the identification, evaluation and landmarking of historic properties associated with African American history.

Join the Planning Department and Al Williams, president of the African American Historical and Cultural Society, as we update the community on the status of the project and document more experiences and memories of San Francisco residents. Be a part of recognizing, celebrating, and protecting African American contributions to San Francisco.
