“Today is a great day for San Francisco residents and for the residents of District 10. Today we reached consensus on a proposal for the November ballot that will increase the minimum wage in our City and passed important updates to our landmark Health Care Security Ordinance. Additionally, the legislation that I worked on with Local 2 and Supervisor Jane Kim to provide worker retention rights to hospitality, restaurant and concession workers passed unanimously at the Board of Supervisors. We spend a lot of time talking about the affordability crisis in our City but it is not just a housing problem. If we as policy makers are really going to help move the needle on affordability in our City we must support living wages and protect jobs in critical industries and ensure that they are secure for workers during transitions in ownership”
