San Francisco Vision Academy Announces they Added a Second Summer Camp

It's the summer and kids from the community have been busy with extracurricular activities. Vision Academy San Francisco summer camp is keeping children busy and off the sofa with the addition of its second camp of the summer.

"The church did not want to have a summer pass without Vision Academy empowering their children," said Xavier Serrato of Vision Academy. "There is also a good possibility that both locations will become After School programs."

Unlike a traditional camp, Vision Academy San Francisco camps help to develop kids who excel in physical, mental and creative disciplines. They believe that kids should not box themselves into an identity tied to a single category like sports or academics, but should explore a variety of interests while having a lot of fun. Vision Academy tries to bridge the gap between the classroom and the playground.

Their summer camp program was built on the idea of empowering students to be independent and confident individuals. Through sports, art, chess, music and academics, Vision Academy aspires to teach students about life.

"At Vision Academy, minds are stimulated, hearts are touched and spirits are nurtured through activities that encourage critical thinking and creativity," said Dr. Hollis M. Pierce, Director of Community Partnerships at Calvary Hill Community Church, Bayview-Hunter's Point Community in San Francisco.

The Vision Academy combines 21st century learning tools such as iPads and Android tablets with traditional academic, artistic and sporting activities into one dynamic program. By combining the best aspects of the classroom and the playground, traditional and technological learning, they aim to give students a well-rounded education.

Vision Academy offers an interdisciplinary and global approach to summer camps. It is the only all-in-one summer camp program available to parents in the San Francisco Bay Area.
