Today the Board of Supervisors finally approved a series of important investments for the City of San Francisco including the acquisition of 900 Innes which will ultimately bring a new park to District 10 and the Development Agreement for the Schlage Lock project.
We also successfully placed a number of issues on November’s ballot, including my charter amendment allowing employees of the former Redevelopment Agency to count their years of services at the Redevelopment Agency for purposes of retiree healthcare benefits if they become City employee. We also placed the soda tax on the ballot, which will fund nutrition, physical activity and health programs.
Lastly, I am also introducing legislation requiring filming companies to provide notification to residents and neighbors should their filming production activity be expected to close streets, obstruct traffic or parking spots. I have heard from many constituents about the lack of outreach and notification to neighboring businesses and residents when film productions take place in their neighborhoods. It is my hope that this legislation will bridge this communication gap and provide residents and businesses with the information they need to ably prepare for any disruptions caused by filming productions.
