BAYSPLASH

On October 10, 2015, the EcoCenter at Heron's Head Park is hosting the first ever BaySplash, a unique community event that will celebrate STEM education and environmental justice through festive, fun, educational, and FREE activities. Think scavenger hunts, science experiments, art, music, and food! This event will encourage Bayview Hunters Point community members to explore and experience the EcoCenter and discover what it means to live more environmentally friendly lives.

Featured activities include: ARTS Zone, EcoCenter Hands-On Activities, Healthy Eating Active Living (HEAL) Zone, STEM Education and Exploration Zone

ART UP Urban Mural Competition - coordinated by IMPRINT.City - artists represent Murals Music and Arts, Bayview Opera House, ARTSPAN, and Black Love Festival

- Music by DJ True Justice

FREE Healthy Meals by SUBWAY

NOMINATE A COMMUNITY STEM HERO

One of the highlights of this event will be the presentation of the EcoCenter IMPACT Community Awards. We are honoring a Bayview Hunters Point community educator, youth, and organization that have excelled in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) related service to inspire and empower the Bayview Hunters Point community. These honorees are exemplary partners helping to advance the EcoCenter's role in environmental justice, urban sustainability, community revitalization, and STEM education and diversity as an investment in the Bayview Hunters Point community.

Nominations are open through September 25, 2015. If you know of a deserving individual or organization please submit a nomination.
