Who is Joe Potrero of "The Real Steve Moss"?
Just curious who "Joe Potrero" is of The Real Steve Moss website, and find it ironic that there's a huge privacy barrier between this person and D10 voters who may want to better know his agenda in this matter. I'm no shill for Moss, and am happy to have information like this be presented in an accurate way so as to ask some tough questions and demand that they be answered, but don't you think it would be more appropriate when asking Moss to come clean, to yourself be open and forthcoming regarding your own identity and affiliation?

while i have my suspicions i think that's irrelevant. joe potrero isn't running for public office. steve moss is. and since steve moss has a reputation as a vindictive person i don't blame JP for shielding his identity - especially if JP may have some business before the board of supes in the future.
ReplyDeletewhat really matter is whether the argument JP is making is in fact true.
while the website's presentation and rambling style leaves a lot to be desired from what i glean, mr. moss does indeed have a problem on his hands: using a non-profit to enrich yourself is a big no-no.
while mr. moss was on my list of 3 based principally on his apparent no nonsense businesslike manner i'm having a much tougher time swallowing this latest slug of revelations. the residency stuff is of marginal importance, particularly when looking at the rest of the field. but the sketchy financial moves combined with the growing support from SF's would be robber barrons should give everyone pause.
now we've got 6 weeks before the election and i hope to see the same level of scrutiny applied to all the candidates (and possibly even their most vocal/prominent supporters).
Joe Potrero is actually a group of people, not one person.
ReplyDeleteThe shielding is only due to Moss and his vindictive persona, quite proven and his reach seems to be very long, city offices and so on.
None of the contributors are running or do any business with the city or even have a candidate choice as of now.
The sole purpose of the site is to get people to ask questions, specifically as he used public funds.
The scrutiny that Moss should be subjected to should be applied to anyone taking any public funds, period.
Read the evidence, go to the city and ask, go to the state attorney generals site and look at the 990's. Look at what he said the money was intended for and look at where it went.
One very basic question. Moss is on record stating that he awarded himself a contract from his own non-profit to himself in a private entity. Again he says it went to him.
The private entity was formed, by his word, in 1992 and every tax filing has the entity's name spelled incorrectly? The business address given on the 990's was residential in Oakland. However he registered the business address (M-Cubed) at his home at the time in D10. Why would the 990 simply not have that matching?
I guess the answer seems pretty simple, he never thought anyone else would ask.
Why are no other candidates asking any questions, pathetic. If you want our vote prove that you will be a pit bull protecting our public funds, are we in a democracy here?
It is you and me baby - you and me!
ReplyDeleteWell, Tony Kelly just lost my #2 vote...
