I support Lynette Sweet for D10 because experience counts. Bayview is vulnerable to developers who are emotionally removed from the community and therefore unconcerned with the negative impact some projects can have on the community. Lynette's experience on the Redevelopment Commission give her the edge in understanding what can (and should) be done to ensure development supports not replaces long-standing residents. Lynette's work on the BART board show's her ability to unite diverse communities under one major concern, while addressing the varying degrees of individual needs that each community displays. Lynette's experience in banking has a proven track record of lending and help to D10 residents so they can buy homes, and remain in the community they love. Long before starting her political career, Lynette was a contributing member of D10. She has sat on boards like the Bayview Opera House and the YMCA, she has volunteered at the schools, she attends church in the community. Lynette provided a well-rounded knowledge of ALL of D10's neighborhoods, that is born from her work on Redevelopment, on the Taxi Commission, on the BART board and through her professional experience in Banking. D10 needs a supervisor who readily understand and assemble solutions to the myriad of issues facing D10. From youth to seniors Lynette has given her time to helping others prosper and live quality lives. To have experience fighting for D10, Lynette Sweet is the most experienced candidate for the job.
I strongly support Lynette Sweet for D10 Supervisor. With over 20 candidates in the race, Lynette has shinned above the rest. Lynette is candidate that is a life long Bayview Hunters Point community member that has actively worked to better the community. During her campaign she has worked to create jobs for community members that have made a significant impact in the lives of those who are in need of a chance. Often time people in need of help are over looked, but Lynette takes the time and effort that many candidates are too busy to give and helps community members gain the necessary experience to have careers and provide for their families so they can remain Bayview residents. Lynette has gained the necessary experience with the Redevelopment Commission and BART Board to lead D10 in a positive direction to create a health & sustainable community. Lynette is a well rounded person who has and will be active in the community to educate and inspire our youth. Youth are the future and Lynette realized this and wants to make D10 a community that works to create a better life for the future community leaders. Lynette has knowledge of D10 and has been volunteer or board members for various organizations in the community. Lynette is the future of D10 and I highly recommend that each D10 resident support her for D10 supervisor as she is the best candidate for the district. D10 must have an African American woman in the supervisor seat to maintain diversity on the Board of Supervisors. Experience is a must, and Lynette has the political experience to be the best D10 Supervisor.
I am voting for Lynette Sweet because her head and her heart is in the right place and she is the most qualified candidate in the race. D10 needs a strong supervisor with the experience required to get the job right. Lynette is a hard worker with a proven track record of results. She is honest and passionate about everything that she does. She starterd her career in banking while attending UC Berkely and she was so much more than just a banker, she listened to her customers and helped them to make good financial decisions. She encouraged Union Bank to start their Community Giving program. She started her career in politics as a Redevelopment Commissioner and became the President of the Redevelopment Commision. She also served as President of the Taxi Commission. She is currently on the BART Board of Directors and this is her 2nd term. During her time at BART she has served a term as Board President, improved opportunities for women and was a key player in negitiiating with labor unions and management in order to avert a potential strike. She is supported and admired by Oscar Grant's family. I have attended a few debates during this campaign and I am very impressed with Lynette's knowedge about all of the issues while many of the other candidates seemed to be guessing or taking notes. Lynette Sweet is the real deal and ts the best choice for D10.
