  1. As a former candidate myself, I am supporting Tony Kelly. Tony has worked for well over a decade on the land use, planning, environmental and social justice issues that face all of us in District 10. His hard work and dedication has earned him a broad base of support in all of the district’s neighborhoods. Throughout the campaign, I have been impressed with his vision and his concrete policy proposals. I believe he has the courage and expertise to help lead the revitalization of the district. I urge you to support him as well.

  2. Tony has been at the forefront of our neighborhood planning and redevelopment issues for many years. He has been a leader on issues facing our district as a volunteer for years. He has been in training for this job for a decade. Tony has been an integral part of our neighborhood for over 20 years. He listens, he cares, he will be a leader for the people. I am voting for Tony and I hope you will too.

  3. Tony Kelly is the best candidate for District 10. He has lived here and immersed himself in being a part of this community. Land use is the biggest and most complex issue facing this district. There is not one other candidate that has the dedication and background Tony has on these issues. Not to mention, Tony can produce real policy and budget solutions that are more critical now than ever. We need someone invested in the community to represent District 10, not a downtown pawn.

  4. I am voting for Tony Kelly because he listens and he cares. We are a district in transition and Tony is an expert in all the major issues that face us. More importantly, I know that even after Tony is elected he will continue to listen and continue to care about D10 residents. His door will always be open to us.

  5. I am torn between Kristine Enea and Tony Kelly. Will keep reading and make my decision - but these two seem to be WAY ahead of the rest in qualifications.

  6. Tony's selfless dedication to D10 as a volunteer over the last decade have earned him broad support across our diverse neighborhoods and respect from both conservatives and progressives alike. His intelligence and experience with land use issues make him the ideal candidate for D10 right now. No one else can match him. He can't be bought and doesn't have pay-to-play commitments to live up to if he's elected. I've worked with him and I've watched him bring disagreeing parties to the table to work toward resolution. He's about getting it done AND getting it done right.

  7. I, too, did a serious amount of research before I decided who to support, and that's Tony Kelly. He unquestionably knows his stuff better than most of the other candidates. He's unquestionably a Potrero Hill guy for the long term, not just to get elected. He's a grass roots, neighborhood guy, not beholden to big $. Because of those things he's Potrero Hill's best choice as supervisor.

  9. I'm voting for Tony because of his long standing commitment, dedication & service to all residents of D10. He has deep knowledge of budget issues, land use, redevelopment, environmental concerns, education and social service challenges facing residents in the Southeast sector of our city. He's been an integral part of the fabric of this community and is all about making sure our district is treated fairly.

Tony knows the issues, he listens, he's not a pawn to business or political influences and he knows how to get things done. He's the best candidate for all communities in D10.

  10. Tony Kelly has been showing up, at City Hall and all over District 10, and fighting for the greater good long before this election season. As an artist, I recognize the value of creative thinking in solving the city’s many serious problems; I believe that Tony’s background in the arts will benefit the Board of Supervisors and the city itself. I appreciate Tony’s intelligence and wit and the fact that he gets it: I have no doubt that he can sensitively and effectively represent ALL of us here in this wonderful, crazy-quilt districtful of diversity. As a longtime advocate of clean money/fair elections, I value Tony as a candidate who will not be beholden to the big-money interests now inundating our mailboxes, obviously trying to buy seats at the table in Districts 6, 8, and 10. Finally, as a leader of Potrero Hill Democratic Club, which has been hosting candidate introductions for months, fielding questionnaires, and had two forums at the Neighborhood House featuring a total of 15 candidates, I am impressed by the fact that in the end Tony Kelly got far more first-choice endorsement votes, from neighbors who actually know the candidates, than all the other candidates combined. After months of careful consideration, and with a shout-out (and second-choice vote) to Kristine, I have concluded that Tony Kelly is the right choice for Supervisor.

  11. Tony will be my first choice. This is based on a number of factors:
    • Strong show of support from other parents in the community (many listed above).
    • I've had the opportunity to work with him briefly, and in those brief times, I've been very impressed with his keen intellect and sincere interest in making a difference.
    • I'm impressed with Tony having an actual proposal which will create jobs in San Francisco. While others talk the talk, he has a real plan based on models used elsewhere to channel city money held in banks to create loans for small businesses. Given banks aren't lending to small businesses right now, this is exactly the right idea at the right time.
    • He takes a clear stand on real issues. A lot of other candidates waffle. They may sound like they agree with you, but, listen carefully and you'll notice they're just being agreeable. Did they commit to anything?
    • Experience/track record of service to the community... nobody's puppet, doesn't owe any favors to downtown moneyed interests as far as I can tell. I feel I can trust Tony to keep D10 interests at heart.
    • Support of Tony from other true community candidates, including former candidate, Bowers (above) who I met and liked, and Tran, who has stated she will put him as her 2nd choice (it stands to reason she puts herself first, of course).
    • Support of parks, openspace and a balanced, community-first approach to planning and land use issues. He's opposed to the recent models used for "redevelopment" which haven't worked out so well. His new approach makes sense to me.
    • Opposed to the Helipad at SFGH.
    • Many other active people in the community I know and respect also list them as their top choice.

  12. I'm voting for Tony because he knows the Hill like no other. He's been up to his armpits in local issues for 7 years as president of the Potrero Boosters, and his track record is astonishing.

He supports parks, open spaces, and community greening (projects near to my heart!) and is an all around sincere and down to earth guy.

  13. I have lived on the Hill since 1974, I am president of the Potrero Hill Association of Merchants and Businesses and VP of the Potrero Boosters. - I live and breathe Potrero Hill and care deeply about who will be our next supervisor. I am convinced that Tony Kelly is the best person for the job.
Tony has worked on local issues for 10 years now; I have worked with Tony on many occasions and have been amazed at his breadth of knowledge, the time he has spent advocating on our behalf, his compassion and his commitment. Tony is ready to hit he ground running as our supervisor and to start working for our best interests.
Tony is beholden to no one; he has not taken large contributions from the Chamber of Commerce nor downtown nor powerful unions to help his campaign. He has stayed true to his beliefs and principles and has run a grass roots campaign.
As I have watched Tony at work for the neighborhoods, I have been struck at his ability to listen. Sure, he is a progressive but he is not doctrinaire; he listens to all sides and has often acted as a mediator. During the Plan Potrero process, I saw him earn the respect of a whole mix of people - developers, affordable housing advocates, open space advocates, and business people like myself.
District 10 needs someone who will truly represent its residents, not outside interests. No one has the qualifications, the knowledge and the commitment that Tony has. I encourage you to join me in making Tony Kelly, the true local guy, our next supervisor for District 10.
