Incidents of Interest:
On September 29th at 9:12 PM, Officers responded to a “shot spotter” activation in the area of 3rd and Revere. The “shot spotter system is a group of receiver dishes secured strategically around the district. They pick up the sound of gunshots and accurately pinpoint their location of origin. This information is then broadcasted to units in the area.
Officers arriving at 3rd and Revere immediately located a 22 year old male victim, laying in the street with gunshot wounds to his buttocks and legs. He was conscious and was able to speak to the Officers while they rendered medical assistance until the paramedics came on scene. He was transported to SFGH where he is expected to recover.
Officers found that the shooting occurred on the 1500 block of Revere and secured both scenes as well as all evidence and witness statements. This incident is being investigated by the Gang Task Force. (SFPD Case No. 110786994)

On September 29th at 9:19, Officers were searching for any possible suspects to the above mentioned shooting. They were advised that a possible suspect had fled south on Lane from Revere St and gave a clothing description. Officers headed to the area and observed three subjects walking in the area of 3rd and Lane. One of the suspects matched the broadcasted description provided by headquarters.
When the Officers attempted to detain the suspects, one of them broke away from the group and made a quick stride away from the Officers. He briefly disappeared behind a blue recycling bin, where he ducked, before standing back up and complying with orders to return to the group. Officers checked the area of the blue bin that the suspect had ducked behind and located a loaded 9 mm semi automatic hand gun on the ground. All three suspects were placed under arrest. When searching the area where the suspects were detained an additional gun, a revolver, was located on the ground. They were transported to Bayview Station where the Gang Task Force took over the investigation and conducted gunshot residue tests on the subjects. (SFPD Case No. 110787146)

On September 28th at 5:20 PM, Plainclothes Officers were conducting an investigation into the abandoned warehouse in the area of Evans and Cesar Chavez. They had knowledge that the building had recently been a target for copper thieves that have been stripping the building of all its electrical lines. The Officers decided to conduct a building search for any possible trespassers inside the warehouse.
The Officers came upon one suspect sitting in a vacant room of the building. They conducted a record check and found him to be a parolee at large with a no bail warrant for his arrest. They took him into custody. Just as they were making the arrest, they observed an additional subject walk through the open front door of the building holding a plastic bag. He was surprised by Officers inside the building and immediately tried to conceal the plastic bag inside his pants pocket. He only shoved it in half way before he was detained. The Officers could clearly see that the bag contained smaller bags of methamphetamine. As a matter of fact, on closer observation, each individual bag had its weight handwritten on it. This is common in packaging for sale.
Believing that the suspect entered the building to conduct a narcotics transaction, the Officers placed him under arrest as well. Both suspects were transported to Bayview Station where they were booked. (SFPD Case No. 110756759)

The victim continued to back away from him in fear and he continued to advance and yell at her.
Abruptly, the suspect turned and went back to the trunk of his car. He removed a sweatshirt and put it on. The victim used this opportunity to dial 911 on her cell phone and give her location. After donning the sweatshirt, the suspect picked the knives back up and walked back towards the victim, continuing to threaten her. The Officers arrived quickly and took the suspect into custody. A witness who had been walking in the area had seen the entire incident unfold and corroborated the victim’s description of events. The suspect was booked on numerous charges at Bayview Station.
