From Supervisor Cohen's office:
The Port and its contractor have spent significant time over the past week to pump and float this vessel. After days of preparation work, this afternoon they successfully floated and towed the vessel from India Basin to a location on Port property where it will be dismantled. While I know that this has been a frustrating experience for many of you, we would like to thank you for your patience and advocacy with the respective City and regional agencies. It has not been a simple or an inexpensive undertaking, but one that was necessary to ensure that the vessel was removed safely without damaging the environment and surrounding area. I have also attached a photo taken on-site today.
