Crane Cove is set to be one of the most celebrated new parks in the City. It is uniquely located within an eligible National Register Historic District at Pier 70 and adjacent to the Port’s large and active ship repair yard. The project will include preservation of the historic ship building slip-way and two historic cranes.
Community planning and design is funded from the 2008 and 2012 Neighborhood Parks Bond, which will also fund the first phase of construction. The completed park will include a variety of landscape and plaza areas, 1,000 feet of Bay shoreline opened, and views of the dry dock, skyline and Bay.
