Visitacion Valley Rare Walking Tours

From SF Fun Cheap,
SF City Guides: Neighborhood Walking Tours Month | May 2013
San Francisco City Guides offers dozens of free guided walking tours, all over the city, throughout the year.
But things get special during the months of May and October each year, when the San Francisco weather is particularly pleasant, City Guides add a slate of rare neighborhood explorations to its year round tour schedule.
Visitacion Valley Part I: Rare Walking Tour
Saturday, May 25 – 10:00 am
Explore Visitacion Valley, named by 18th-century Spaniards lost in the fog and part of the only local land grant deeded to an Anglo.
The morning’s focus is on the valley’s commerce, transportation, and development, including a foray through Little Hollywood and ending at Silvestri’s showroom.
Visitacion Valley Part II: Rare Walking Tour
May 25 – 2:00 pm
Explore Visitacion Valley, named by 18th-century Spaniards lost in the fog and part of the only local land grant deeded to an Anglo.
The afternoon tour concentrates on community life – including Eichler housing, a Julia Morgan church, landscaped greenways, and more – in the “Valley of the Windmills.” Somewhat strenuous.
Meet at 45 Leland Ave. for both tours
