Man slain by SF police was sought in Seattle death

As the investigation of this case continues, we're probably going to find out that this guy was scum, out to do MORE bad things and was NOT in our neighborhood to do anything else.  All the calls for "justice" from people who prejudged the event and thought the police had shot this thug simply over a $2 fare need to realize this.  I've said it before, but thank GOODNESS none of the crowd at Mendell Plaza were injured as this guy shot at our SFPD.  It should be interesting to see what happens at today's noon press conference being put on at the Oakdale/Palou MUNI stop by SF Education Not Incarceration, Idriss Stelley Foundation & the SF Bayview Newspaper - groups who are referring to this take-down of an allegedly armed, alleged murderer who was shooting at police and into a crowd of people as a "PD homicide".

From SFGate,
The man who police officers shot and killed after he fired at them during a foot chase in Bayview-Hunters Point was a 19-year-old Washington state parolee sought for questioning in the slaying last week of a pregnant woman in Seattle, the San Francisco police chief said Sunday.

The man, who was fatally wounded Saturday afternoon while fleeing from officers who had tried to cite him for Muni fare evasion, had recently been released from a prison in Washington after serving time for convictions stemming from a King County sex offense, said Chief Greg Suhr.

Suhr did not release the man's name. But he said Seattle police detectives were seeking him as a person of interest in the slaying Wednesday of Tanaya Gilbert, 19, which also killed her unborn child. Three others were injured. A day after the shooting, gunfire marred a vigil for Gilbert.
