The LGBT Advisory Committee of the San Francisco Human Rights Commission will meet in the Bayview Tuesday, July 19 to discuss the state of LGBT community in the city's southeastern neighborhoods.
The meeting takes place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Bayview Hunters Point YMCA, 1601 Lane Street.
The bulk of the meeting will be discussing "Beyond Castro – Building LGBT Community in District 10." The district has LGBT residents, some of whom moved to the area for its comparatively lower housing prices. It has also had LGBT candidates for the supervisor's seat, although none have thus far been successful.
The advisory committee plans to hold its September meeting in the Castro.
