I just got word from a friend that Velma's Jazz Club has closed down because business was bad and they just couldn't keep it going.  Sad that a place like this that my friend and others especially liked seems to have just faded away without any mention in the press.

Velma Landers, Eric Jones, and Chester Billinger opened Velma's at 2246 Jerrold Ave in the autumn of 2007. The land and building are currently for sale.
