On September 30th at 9:00 AM, an Assistant Head of a school in the area of Mariposa and Arkansas left her private office to walk down the street for some coffee. As she walked, she observed three female subjects on the street that she acknowledged as she walked past. By the time the victim got out of the coffee shop, the three were no longer there.
The victim headed back to her office and was surprised to find one of the subjects just outside her office door inside the school. She immediately noticed that her laptop was gone from her desk and her purse was no longer hanging where it was before. She attempted to detain the suspect, who ran out of the building. The other two suspects had already left the building.
The victim told fellow employees of the incident and one went outside and began to run after one of the suspects. He caught up to her on the 300 block of Connecticut, as did the officers. The suspect was taken into custody.
The Officers had a unit respond out to the area of 7th and Market to look for the additional suspects and stolen laptop. 7th and Market is one of the first places thieves go to quickly sell stolen items on the street. It was a good call. Two subjects matching the description that was provided happened to be in that area.....with a laptop. The purse had been recovered as well.
A cold show was conducted and both suspects were positively identified. The laptop was identified as belonging to the school. Both were placed under arrest and transported to Bayview along with the third suspect from the scene. All were booked on burglary and conspiracy charges. (SFPD Case No. 110788990)
