I routinely dodge two or three cyclists pedaling on the sidewalk on my morning walk to work along Third St. Cyclists (of whom I am one) often erroneously believe that they belong on the sidewalks because it's safer there. Well, if you want to be on the sidewalk, folks, walk your bikes. There are bike-friendly routes all over the city, and with a good helmet and by following traffic laws, you can pretty much be safe getting from point A to B around much of San Francisco.
