For those of you looking to move or rent anywhere in San Francisco, my sincerest condolences. While rents are up across the city, only in Seacliff have they risen more (percentage-wise) than in the Bayview. Last year, the average Bayview apartment rented for just under $1100. Today, it's up 135% ($1500) to nearly $2600. Rents in the Bayview are now on par with those in Diamond Heights and nearly as high as the Mission and Bernal Heights. Potrero Hill's rents have increased 51% ($1100), and while those in Visitacion Valley are up 60% ($700) as compared to this time last year, it still ranks as the absolute least expensive place in the city to rent.
