The Port of San Francisco is currently working with real-estate developers Forest City and Orton Developer’s Inc., to create a whole new waterfront, complete with parks, a ferry terminal, access to the historic Irish Hill, spaces for restaurants, commercial and retail shops, new plazas, food halls, and many more new additions. It'll all connect with the already existing, central business core of the Dogpatch neighborhood.
History and local community buffs, rest easy: Considerable effort has gone into preserving as many of the historical structures as possible, while building a compelling local waterfront. Here's a view of how Pier 70 looks now, and what you can expect to see in the future.
