Leah Pimentel, political activist: A young, politically active mother from San Francisco's Bayview neighborhood, Pimentel, 31, has become a prominent voice of the local elected Democratic Party and the progressive community at large. In 2013, she helped defeat the 8 Washington luxury condominium project. In 2014, she plans to continue to fight for middle-class San Francisco families.
