In a statement released Thursday Supervisor Malia Cohen called on city departments as well as community leaders to come together to address the specific issue of gun violence in our city. While we have a proportionally smaller number of homicides and shootings compared to other large cities in the United States. The problem is a critical public health issue that must be addressed. Half way through 2014, 20 lives have been stolen from families and the community.
