A man was robbed at gunpoint after responding to a Craigslist ad for video equipment in Visitacion Valley on Thursday, police said.
The victim agreed to bring $2,000 cash and meet the so-called seller in the 400 block of Wilde Avenue around 5 p.m., cops said. Upon arriving, the victim noticed a man carrying a bag that wasn’t big enough for the video equipment he hoped to purchase, police said.
The victim was then attacked from behind by one man, while the other pulled out a gun. The thug pushed the handgun into the victim’s stomach and demanded his cellphone and cash. The victim complied.
The thugs then ripped the victim’s wallet from the chain attached to his pants and fled, police said.
The victim was uninjured. He said he felt he could identify the suspect with the gun if he ever saw him again, police said.
Two suspects that matched the original description were detained in the area. However, the victim said they were not the thugs that robbed him.
