SFGH Rebuild Update: Pouring the New Hospital Foundation!

Starting on Friday, September 9, at 8:00 p.m., concrete trucks will begin arriving to start pouring concrete for our new hospital’s foundation. This is a 20-hour project and will end on Saturday, September 10, at approximately 3:00 p.m. Concrete trucks will be staged on Potrero Ave. and enter SFGH campus via 22nd and 23rd Streets. Light towers will be operating and be directed at the job site. There will be a higher than normal noise level from the activities. There will be traffic control personnel and San Francisco Police Officers on duty during the entire the length of this project.
  • Concrete trucks will be staged temporarily along Potrero Ave. between 24th & 23rd Streets, but will not block driveways.
  • The pour must take place at night because we need to continuously pour the concrete. Also, it will interfere less with daytime traffic.
  • All trucks will be rinsed before leaving the job site.
  • Construction staff will not park on neighborhood streets.
  • Up to two more concrete pours will take place later this fall. Advance notice will be given.
COMMUNITY MEETING To learn more about the concrete pour please join us at: San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center Main Hospital, 2nd Floor, Room 2-A 6 Wednesday, August 31, at 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
