Hero Nominations Underway for Seventh-Annual Heroes & Hearts Luncheon
San Francisco General Hospital Foundation Seeks Extraordinary Citizens to Honor with Service Award
SAN FRANCISCO (September 13, 2011) - San Francisco General Hospital Foundation (SFGHF) is currently seeking nominations for its seventh-annual Heroes & Hearts Award, a service award which recognizes humanitarians who live or work in the San Francisco Bay Area. Nominations are now being accepted through Tuesday, November 1, 2011.
"The Heroes & Hearts Award is a tremendous way to recognize individuals who work to create positive change in our community," said San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee. "From saving lives to giving haircuts to the homeless to connecting children with learning specialists, the Bay Area is full of heroes and we have a responsibility to recognize their efforts. I urge everyone to nominate a hero for a 2012 Heroes & Hearts Award today."

Heroes & Hearts Award nominees must reside or work in the San Francisco Bay Area and have demonstrated exemplary service to an individual or the community. Posthumous nominations cannot be considered. For complete information and to download a Heroes & Hearts awards nomination form, please visit

Recipients of Heroes & Hearts Awards are selected by a committee comprised of SFGHF Board Members and community members and are honored at the Heroes & Hearts Luncheon on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at AT&T Park.
