Get an update on the Port’s Maritime activity, the Port’s partnership with the Golden Gate Audubon Society on the Pier 94 wetlands and provide input on the Pier 92 Grain Silo Public Art Project.
Proposed art for the Pier 92 Grain Siloslocated on Amador Street and Islais Creek. Selected artists Laura Haddad and Tom Drugan wish to share the art concepts and research they have conducted, and learn more from local residents about meaningful stories, events, places and people that might inform how the art develops from here.
NEXT STEPS
The Port and SFAC staffs are working with the artists to conduct community outreach to help further refine the design concept. The Port’s Southern Waterfront Advisory Committee (SWAC) meeting on March 27, 2013 at 6:00 PM at the Bayview Opera House is scheduled to solicit input. Port and SFAC staff will work with the artists to finalize the design concept. Also in late March the artists will be working with their technical team on determining if the mural would be painted on the silos or if the mural would be printed on a fabric and attached to the silos, the later more likely. 5 - The SFAC will continue to manage the project through completion. Each of the Port’s divisions will coordinate and facilitate the project completion with the Engineering division reviewing it for safety and issuance of a building permit.

March 12, 2013 - Port Commission Approve Contract
March and April - Community Outreach
March and April - Technical review test and engineering
May to June - Finalize Design and engineering
June to August - Fabricate components
Fall 2013 - Install Art
