Tree Tours

Friends of the Urban Forest arranges tours of the beautiful trees, parks, and natural spaces of San Francisco. Our Tree Tours happen rain or shine. Bring comfortable shoes that can get dirty. We also recommend you bring water and a camera (for all the beautiful trees). Be advised that some terrain may prevent the passage of wheeled mobility devices. Tours begin promptly. All tours are free, but to ensure that you're included, please RSVP to Sarah Campbell at sarah@fuf.net unless otherwise noted. Arborists, note: 1 CEU from ISA per tree tour. Enjoy!

Tree Tour of the Bayview Neighborhood

with Chris Buck

Sunday, June 10 (12 Noon to 2)

Tired of the summer fog already? Chris Buck, a former Education Coordinator at FUF and a current Urban Forestry Inspector with the City's Department of Public Works, guarantees a sunny tour in the City's sunniest neighborhood that he calls home. The tour will begin and conclude at the nationally-acclaimed Flora Grubb Gardens on Jerrold Ave and in between we will take a look at the new Newcomb Avenue Model Block Streetscape Project, check-in on Quesada Gardens and the palm trees that Chris helped landmark while at FUF, and be treated to surprising views of the Bay. Key words: trees, tree id, permeable paving, sidewalk landscaping, stormwater management , combined sewer system, environmental justice, community building, sun.

Meet at 1634 Jerrold between 3rd Street and Phelps.
RSVP to Michele Palmer at michele@fuf.net.
Nearby public transportation: Muni T, 23, 19, 24.
